Urban & Landscape Planning (ULP)
Laboratory
The Urban & Landscape Planning Laboratory (ULP Lab) is a transdisciplinary research group that explores the complex relationship between urban environments and landscapes. We approach cities and landscapes not as separate systems, but as interconnected spatial fabrics that must be designed and planned in cohesion.
At the heart of the ULP Lab’s philoophy is a strong commitment to qualitative inquiry—understanding space through lived experience, cultural narratives, community voices, and the deeper meanings embedded in place. We believe that beyond the physical form, the value of space lies in its capacity to shape and reflect human life.
Our research and design work foregrounds socially engaged, context-sensitive approaches that embrace both the tangible and intangible layers of urban and landscape systems. By moving fluidly across disciplinary boundaries, we seek to cultivate creative, experimental, and practice-oriented methods that bridge theory and action.
ULP Lab envisions cities where people, nature, and places thrive together. Through critical reflection and imaginative practice, we aim to contribute to the creation of more inclusive, meaningful, and resilient urban landscapes.
